Found virus immediately

I knew I had a virus, saw all the good reviews, so I thought I’d try it since it’s free, and it worked. I ran the full scan, it ran about 2 minutes, and the virus was found. No more annoying pop-ups.

So far so good… but a question

I was very happy with their other product (Dr. Cleaner) that I had to try this out… But I was wondering if better scanning would be covered if I allowed Dr Safety access to the “Macbook Pro” folder (ie the root drive) versus my folder?

Good One

Scanning quickly and good one

Uninstall Avira install this one does better

UPDATE:04/02/2016 Ok it seems like there is no way to have this startup automatically unless you tell it to. Then it enables real time scan So seems to be working as intended. Up’ed to 5 stars from 4 =======03/31/2016 Ok Avira, it seems ok but that constant guard is cause my little mid-2010 Mac Mini to slow sometimes Anyway I was not sure because it didn’t or doesn’t pick up anything So I uninstalled it and installed this one. NOW, it came up and said I have ONE virus……..ok It is a (Office 2011 Mac) word doument that ends in .docM (as in Macro) So I deleted it Now I have a 2011 27” iMac next to me (wife who is a graphic designer) and I put it on there…. running full scan because she always used Outlook until I finally switched her to using just Mail Outlook was always having problems and having to rebuild index that was like >1GB because of her wanting to keep emails from like 5 years ago (with attachments) This scanning it is hanging on a .olk14MsgAttach file……can not read the entire file name but it has to be something and some of those attachments she has/had were > 100Mb I see the ScopedBookmarkAgent running……had to see what was. It is when you allow this to access the /User folder, it is running outside of it’s SandBox…. All of our machines are OS X 10.11.4 right now, so I see it is holding up on older equipment running ok for now So will see….what if anything it says on her machine. She got a virus/malware one time like 3 years ago on the 21” she had (2010 until the motherboard went toast, so she got my 27”) and it caused a lot of problems Good thing I keep the TimeMachine on RAID1 external drives that are 1TB and only do the /User Folder, so she had backups from months before available to get from. Will see how this program works. It’s not that I don’t trust things (programs) that are from outside Apple’s walled garden, but I can never tell 100% if they are TRUELY having my best interest and not leaking data to China or Russia. This also has the Web Gaurd Extension for Safari (which is all she uses and she is not as technical as me, because it’s what I do 50% of the time) and she would click a link in a email from a “friend” and not really pay attention if it was something that ended in .OM instead of .COM Which are/have been the .OM websites with drive by malware So will see……. Again, it seems to be in my best interest and if it comes out good after a week or so, will up to 5 stars.

Great App!

Easy to use!!!

Simple, easy, quick

it’s hard to know whether or not any anti-virus is getting everything, right? But this seems to scan pretty fast and does place questionable files into a qurantine folder - which is pretty nice. Simple to use. Nice interace.

New to mac, app seems to be good, no viruses on my mac

I just used this app for the first time and it seems to be efficient and fast even on a full scan. I am new to mac computers and didn’t realize I needed a virus scanner. I went by all the great reviews this app has gotten and I figure at 146 five star ratings this app has to be pretty good and plus it is free. I hope it continues to give me and everyone good service. Thanks.

Worked extremely well

Found 7 items that AVG did not find. I am pleased to say this is a great product.

App performs as advertised

I use multiple AV programs and scan with all and though I haven’t run across a virus or malware yet, this app is very nice…….

Seems to work

I ran the app three times, rebooting each time. I found and isolated over 100 infected files on the first run. I rebooted and ran it gain. This time it found little more than 50 infected files and isolated them. After rebooting again I ran again and this time my system ws clean. Interesting.

Stupid Viruses!

It’s wrong that others get a thrill from creating viruse that hold a company’s records hostage. However, it’s truly AWESOME that companies like TrendMicro create software that we can use to protect our systems, our employees, and our client’s data. And they provide it for free (even if some add-on features are paid for)! But basic protection from jerks, for free, makes me love this company and want to support them and their products. When we scanned our systems, we found 20 trojan viruses that had been causing having to our file explorer, our saved emails, and our microsoft documents. Thank fully this software eradicated the viruses and our system’s are runnin gmuch more smoothly. The free updates are great, too!

It took care of the infamous “OFFERS4U” pop-up virus/malware!

I bought it soley for this purpose, and it did exactly as it was supposed to.

Great program

I always like to keep my mac clean and I am mortified of viruses. I am not the most computer savy person but this software was easy to use and installl and FREE.

i guess it had done its job

i used to use another app that stopped working due to app errors and decided to try this one. i downloaded it and ran a full system scan and it came back with no viruses found. I had not had a full system scan in a long time so was curious if this app would find anything. I will continue to use this app and hope i never have a virus, but if one gets on the mac i hope this app will detect and remove it

Pretty good

Seems pretty quick and thourough

Simplicity

I use Trnd Micro for our Windows servers at work. I was suprised to find a product for my Mac by Trend Micro. This app is simple, efficient and does what is supposed to do.
